RESTON Va., Jan. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — David Linthicum, CTO and founder of Blue Mountain Labs, will serve as track chair and speaker at this year’s Cloud Connect 2012 Conference on February 13-16 at the Santa Clara, CA Convention Center.

Linthicum will serve as Track Chair for the Application Architecture & Design Track that will cover a range of topics relating to the right and wrong ways to leverage, design, and build cloud-based systems and infrastructure. This includes advice from those currently in the trenches who make cloud computing work for the Global 2000 and government, to those who will soon fight to make cloud computing work for their clients, employers, and/or investors.

In addition, Linthicum will serve as a speaker. The title of his presentation is “How to Get Cloud Architecture and Design Right the First Time.” It will take place Tuesday, February 14 from 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. For more information, please visit: http://www.cloudconnectevent.com/santaclara/cloud-computing-conference/application-architecture-and-design.php.

“In this presentation, I will examine the proper ways to design, build, and leverage cloud computing systems as well as steps to success, emerging best practices, and how SOA fits in,” Linthicum said. “In this session, I’ll cover the right and wrong ways to leverage, design, and build cloud-based systems and infrastructure. The audience is anyone who will soon fight to make cloud computing work for their clients, employers, and/or investors, and need to knock it out of the park the first time.”

Linthicum is the author of “Cloud Computing and SOA Convergence – A Step-by-Step Guide,” published in 2009, which is the book that many regard as the “cook book” for cloud computing migrations and new system deployments. He has also authored and coauthored over 15 books on technology, and the Cloud Computing Blogger at InfoWorld. Linthicum was CTO of both SAGA Software and Mercator Software, who were both major players in the technology space, and has served as a board member and CEO for many different technology companies.

Blue Mountain Labs is a consultancy created to lead enterprises to the promises of cloud computing, including expert advisory and development services. Linthicum has applied his vast enterprise architecture and IT strategy experience to the use of the cloud, and will reveal his secrets in this keynote presentation.
