According to the data, male customers in the Far East (Mainland China, Hong Kong,
Japan and Singapore) spend more than any other country or region for Valentine’s Day at
US$274 per order. Spain and France came in second and third respectively, at US$239 and
US$189 per order. German men came in last with a spend of US$94 per order, followed
closely by the Italians at US$98.

In terms of the types of pieces purchased, earrings were the most popular,
representing 31% of the purchases, followed by bracelets and necklaces at 26% and 21%
respectively. 86% of all purchases were for non-committal pieces (i.e., not rings).
