Chinook Communications Unveils World’s First Production Release of New Cloud Hosted Lync Server 2010 Multitenant Pack for Partner Hosting

February 9, 2012

SEATTLE, Feb. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Chinook Communications has announced the introduction of a new service offering that makes advanced collaboration and communications tools available to small and medium-sized businesses. The service, a fully integrated bundle called Total Connect, is the first ever production release worldwide of the Microsoft-supported Lync Server 2010 Multitenant Pack for Partner Hosting.

The Total Connect bundle includes the complete range of Microsoft® Lync® Server 2010 voice communications capabilities, plus:

  • Instant messaging
  • Hosted Microsoft Lync-based phone system
  • Presence
  • PSTN integrated audio conferencing
  • Web-based audio/video conferencing
  • Application sharing
  • Microsoft Exchange 2010-based email and unified messaging
  • Secure document management with Microsoft SharePoint 2010

Hosted Lync offers cost-effective access to up-to-date enterprise management tools, according to Chinook Communications President Steve Schwartz. “As subscribers to these Lync-based services, our customers and our Partner’s customers achieve more effective collaboration and communication,” he said. “With our cloud based platform, they get the benefits of ongoing system maintenance and upgrades while offsetting significant operational expenses.”

Chinook Communications offers a depth of experience in developing hosted enterprise productivity resources, Schwartz noted, and is recognized as a pioneer driving the emergence of cloud computing. “In May of 2011 we were among the few organizations selected by Microsoft as a participant in beta-testing the Lync Server 2010 Multitenant Pack,” he said. “We are thoroughly familiar with the technology, helped shape and perfect its capabilities, and are well ahead of the curve as Lync enters the market in terms of expertise and responsiveness to customer and partner needs.”

Schwartz also noted that “Microsoft chose Chinook Communications to be one of their pilot partners due to our established technical expertise. They felt confident that we would help bring the Microsoft Lync Server 2010 Multitenant Pack for Partner Hosting to market successfully.”
