GreenSQL Demands Increased Database Security in Light of Unfolding Tsunami of Cyber Attacks

February 22, 2012

TEL AVIV, Israel, February 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ –

GreenSQL [http://www.greensql.com ] (http://www.greensql.com), provider of the only
Unified Database Security Solution, has responded to the recent escalation of hacking and
cyber attacks. Recent attacks have occurred against the UK’s Royal Navy, US Federal
Reserve and Zappos website databases, as well as reciprocal attacks among hackers in
countries such as Bangladesh, India, Israel, and Saudi Arabia. GreenSQL stated that there
is an urgent need for website operators and database administrators to secure their users’
and customers’ critical private details.

“The hackers have released information that is actually much more dangerous than
revealing a credit card number,” said David Maman, Founder and CTO of GreenSQL.
“Everything a criminal needs to steal someone’s identity is now easily available, all
because this information wasn’t properly protected.”

The announcement comes shortly after GreenSQL unveiled
[http://www.greensql.com/content/greensql-214-now-available ] the latest version of its
Unified Database Security Solution. GreenSQL helps organizations solve data security
issues including: protecting against SQL Injection attacks to avoid identity and
sensitive-data thefts; complying with regulations such as PCI DSS, HIPAA and SOX;
monitoring database activity and protecting against unauthorized access; and real-time
masking to hide sensitive information from unauthorized sources within the organization
(such as CRM and privileged users).

“Less than 5% of websites operating database platforms such as MySQL and SQL Server
use any kind of security platform,” added David Maman. “No reason exists for this
information to remain unsecured when you take into account the numerous free and
affordable security options available. This is an enormous global problem, but it’s
avoidable. Every website, regardless of size, has the ability and the need to protect the
data that it collects from users/customers.”

GreenSQL is hosting a webinar on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, where attendees can learn
how to protect their most sensitive information. Register at
