Arkeia Software Celebrates World Backup Day
SAN DIEGO, March 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Arkeia Software, a leading provider of fast, easy-to-use and affordable network backup solutions, celebrates World Backup Day, March 31, by providing no-cost, perpetual licenses of Arkeia Network Backup software. Arkeia encourages individuals and organizations to protect against data loss due to hardware failure, software failure, human error, theft, and natural disaster.
“World Backup Day serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting valuable data,” says Bill Evans, CEO at Arkeia Software. “The labor of most knowledge workers manifests itself as vulnerable bytes, stored precariously on magnetic media and semiconductor devices. Knowledge workers that value their effort will back up their data. Arkeia is offering two free edition software solutions to provide a special data protection boost to individuals and young companies.”
Arkeia vmOneStep Virtual Appliance: Free Edition
Arkeia’s vmOneStep Virtual Appliance offers comprehensive backup and recovery support for VMware vSphere platforms, including ESX and ESXi. The new vmOneStep virtual appliance auto-discovers, auto-includes, and auto-protects all virtual machines in a single backup schedule without the installation of backup agents. Paid licenses can protect additional hypervisors and also Microsoft Hyper-V and Citrix XenServer, as well as more than 200 physical platforms.
Arkeia Network Backup: Free Edition
Arkeia Network Backup, Free Edition is fully-featured backup server application ready for installation on any Linux server. The free edition license protects all files on any two computers using Windows desktop, Mac desktop, Linux, or BSD operating systems. Paid licenses can protect additional computers, non-file data via hot-backup agents for databases and applications, or virtual environments like VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
