New Features For Savision’s Live Maps Create Location-Aware Cloud Management

Savision, the market leader in solutions for Microsoft’s System Center, has enhanced their Live Maps product to be fully integrated with Microsoft Service Manager and Bing Maps.

Live Maps is designed to show IT problems in the context of your business and identify the resources that are closest to the problem, through easy to understand diagrams, maps and dashboards. IT departments won’t waste time guessing where the problem is and wondering what resources would be best used to solve the problem, which saves time and allows issues to be detected and resolved before users notice that a problem exists.
There are two distinct advantages to the new Live Maps integration with Microsoft Service Manager: Clients will automatically be provided with the business context for all of their IT incidents, and the auto-discovery features of Live Maps ensure maintenance-free business service management.
“When you truly understand the business context of an IT incident, you can figure out when and how to address it,” Rob Doucette, Savision´s CTO said. “Some problems can have a far larger impact on your business than others and need to become top priorities. Others have less of an impact and can be handled later.”
The new Live Maps integration with Bing Maps means a customer is aware of the location of all IT assets right down to their current street address. Live Maps will even allow tracking of IT assets in real time as they travel — no matter where they are in the world.
“Figuring out where your assets are at any given time can be crucial when an IT problem occurs,” Douwe van de Voort, Savision´s Business Strategist said. “When you can track your assets in real time and see exactly where they are, you know who is going to be able to address the problem in the most effective way.”
