Actor Max Greenfield Will Take Over Zevia’s Twitter Page On April 26 And Speak Only Truths To Highlight The Brand’s Mission To Reduce Artificiality In The Soda World

April 26, 2012

LOS ANGELES, April 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — The writing is on the wall about sugary soda, and the alternative, diet soda, is generally laden with artificial sweeteners, which add up quickly. Enter Zevia, sweetened with stevia and therefore both zero calories AND all natural. Zevia’s mission is to help soda drinkers reduce consumption of artificial sweeteners and thereby reduce the “Artificiality” in their lives. In a first step, Zevia will begin stripping away the “Artificiality” from a series of everyday situations by having actor Max Greenfield take over the Zevia Twitter page (Twitter.com/ZEVIA) on April 26 from 1 – 5 p.m. ET (10 a.m. – 2 p.m. PT). The actor will shoot from the hip – sharing thoughts and answering questions with raw honesty. No fakeness allowed.

“I can promise you that my tweets will have no artificial flavoring or ingredients,” said Greenfield. “Let’s hear it for Zevia for handing over the keys to their twitter account to this guy. Bravo, to the risk takers of the world!”

Greenfield will be hanging out with Zevia’s CEO Paddy Spence during the Twitter takeover. Spence is the former VP of Sales & Marketing at Kashi who later started the natural product industry’s first major market research firm SPINS and was CEO of Nature’s Gate. He gave up sugar 12 years ago, right around the time he began running more than 40 triathlons and training in mixed martial arts.

“We are removing the artificiality from everyday situations in hopes of inspiring soda-drinkers to reduce the amount of artificial sweeteners that they drink,” said Spence. “Max is known for saying what’s on his mind and is a huge star in the making – we aspire to be both of these things.”

Zevia is projecting 80 percent sales growth is 2012 and is available at Whole Foods Market, Target, Kroger, Sprouts and many other stores nationwide. Zevia recently expanded its line to 15 familiar flavors, adding Cherry Cola, Lime Cola and Strawberry to the existing portfolio, which includes Cola, Caffeine Free Cola, Ginger Root Beer, Ginger Ale, Dr. Zevia, Cream Soda, Grape, Black Cherry, Lemon Lime Twist, Grapefruit Citrus, Orange and Mountain Zevia.

Zevia is sweetened with stevia, a plant native to South America that does not affect blood glucose levels or contain calories. Zevia has created all natural formulas that are vegan, Kosher and gluten-free and are safe for diabetics, women who are pregnant and nursing, kids and people who are looking to lose or maintain a healthy weight.
