From Moscow to the Rest of the World – Frost & Sullivan’s GIL 2012: Russia to be Broadcast Live
LONDON, May 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — The Russian business community and the rest of the world are now closer than ever. For the first time in many years, an event will be aired live, globally, from Russia. GIL 2012: Russia, part of Frost & Sullivan’s exclusive community of Growth, Innovation and Leadership (GIL), which will take place on 17th May in Moscow’s Ritz Carlton Hotel, will be broadcast live on Frost & Sullivan’s website, frost.com.
Business leaders from all over the world will be able to participate in an event taking place a stone’s throw from the Kremlin and the Red Square without leaving their offices in California, Sao Paulo, Tokyo, Beijing, London or Mumbai.
“This will be a unique opportunity for our clients based in different countries to witness our first GIL event in Russia. There will be over 100 executives from top Russian companies, and the agenda has been designed to combine our unique GIL platform services and insights with current events and developments taking place in Russia,” explains Beatrice Shepherd, Vice President, CEE, Russia & CIS.
Frost & Sullivan’s Chairman David Frigstad, the founding visionary innovator of Frost & Sullivan’s GIL global community, adds: “We wanted to create a bridge between the Russian business community and the rest of the world and we thought that this would be a good starting point. We want to bring the world closer to Russia and Russia closer to the world. We want to make sure that in the true spirit of our global community of Growth, Innovation and Leadership, we continue to engage, share, and inspire a continuous flow of new ideas and fresh perspectives beyond geographical boundaries.”
During GIL 2012: Russia, Frost & Sullivan will be joined by executives from leading Russian organisations and companies from both the public and private sectors, including Energy, ICT, R&D Institutions, new innovation and technology clusters, business financial sectors, healthcare, high tech and others. Throughout the whole GIL event, interviews with top Russian executives – even the opportunity to interact and ask questions – will be possible thanks to the broadcast available on frost.com.
“I think Russia is being misrepresented and misunderstood in other regions. Due to this miscommunication, both sides are missing out on great opportunities for collaboration and finding mutual interest to grow business. There is so much more about Russia than just politics and oligarchs – this event will provide the opportunity to see the Russian business community more objectively,” adds Beatrice Shepherd.
GIL 2012: Russia will explore the current situation in the country with a close look at the rest of the world. Ms Shepherd summarises the highlights of the event: “We will be presenting our vision of Mega Trends for Russia, discussing potential scenarios and the implications in transforming Russia. In highly interactive sessions we will brainstorm with fellow participants to identify the most pertinent global forces which can impact our business and personal lives, and the next generation business models for success. We will also be presenting “Technology Vision 2020″ – the result of 15 months of research conducted by Frost & Sullivan into the Top Emerging and Innovative Technologies that will impact industries and business strategies in Russia.” Participants will also explore the idea of creating the first Smart City in Russia – Frost & Sullivan believes that there will be over 40 Smart Cities around the world in 2020. As a key global economic power, Frost & Sullivan believes that Russia should be on that map.
The broadcasting will be possible thanks to COMDI, a Russian developer and provider of webinars, web-conferences and e-learning services. COMDI web service enables business meetings, on-line training, conferences and round tables, presentations, webinars and other events. More than 50,000 on-line events with over 3.5 million participants have been hosted through COMDI’s services.
