Jack Welch Announces Partnership in Evaluate to Win

May 23, 2012

PHOENIX, May 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Jack Welch, the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of General Electric, announced his participation in a new company today – Evaluate to Win (ETW). Based in Phoenix, Ariz., the company is a collaboration between Welch and Lee Benson, CEO and founder of Able Engineering and Component Services.

ETW is a cloud-based software application that uses employee evaluations to drive organizational accountability, profitability and growth. Welch, who describes ETW as “the best business management system I’ve ever seen,” is a partner in the new venture. He is actively involved in strategy, marketing and consulting with ETW clients, establishing best practices designed to help their organizations win.

In 2006, Benson developed ETW for his Phoenix-based aerospace engineering and services business. Over the last five years, the system has helped the company realize over 20 percent compounded annual growth, with a 300 percent growth target by 2017. Lee Benson has been associated with Jack Welch programs since 2006. Benson recently collaborated with Welch on commercializing ETW – a refined, updated and digitized version of the system Welch used to manage GE. The strategic business management application was launched commercially earlier this year and is already in use with 30 companies.

ETW-certified business management consultants help client companies manage the organizational and cultural change required to improve accountability, profitability and growth. Consultants guide each ETW client and assist in the initial deployment, management training, dashboards, analytics and ongoing support. According to Welch, the dashboards and analytics provide additional value through their immediate, visual representation of individual and organizational results. The data acquired through ETW easily identifies areas of the business that require more time and focus. It also identifies high-potential employees, providing highly valuable data upon which strategic and organizational cultural decisions can be based.

“Imagine having 50 percent or more of your employees performing like the top 20 percent,” Benson said. “At Able, we developed behavior-based values based upon the best observable behaviors of our most successful employees on their best days ever.” ETW provides scoring criteria for ‘soft’ requirements (mission, behaviors, leadership traits) that enable employees to interact and collaborate with managers during the evaluation process rather than the teacher/student grading model that is so unpopular with almost everyone using traditional evaluation systems. “Survey your own employees to find out how many know what your corporate mission and behaviors are – at Able 90 percent of our employees know both,” says Benson.

Companies, non-profits, governmental agencies and management consultants seeking ETW certification may visit the company’s website (www.EvaluateToWin.com) to request a demonstration, or to receive more information.
