Rolex Watches, Rare Gold Coins and Precious Gems in Government Auction’s May 27 Auction

May 23, 2012

The Rolex brand is synonymous with luxury and quality in watches. Government Auction has made available for immediate liquidation a collection of high end watches including Rolex, Cartier and Bvlgari with bidding starting as low as $2 on most items.

Tehachapi, CA (PRWEB) May 22, 2012

An auction highlight is Lot# 9A, an impressive pre-owned Rolex Men’s 1985 Stainless Steel & Gold Watch. The Model #15053 timepiece is a Oyster Perpetual Date that has retained all its original parts including the face, band and dial. The watch contains a18kt yellow gold and stainless steel bracelet with a champagne dial and 18kt yellow gold index markers.

For a woman that loves classical design and is seeking to make a bold statement 14 kt. Gold, 74CT Ruby & 5CT Diamond Necklace fits the bill and is quite a showstopper. The ruby necklace is set in an imperial design of linked ruby and diamond floret clusters with a total of 29 natural rubies, each chevron shaped, surrounded by diamonds. Each ruby measures approximately 9 x 7mm. Celebrated as one of the most prized gemstones, rubies have long been the gem most closely associated with royalty and as such have become a precious gem desired for both its aesthetic popularity and monetary value. The necklace has an estimated high value of $41,350.

Another major draw in this event is the abundance of gold coins to be auctioned. A unique coin specimen is a 1850 $20 U.S Liberty Head Gold Coin. The “Double Eagle” as the coin is also referred to was minted from 1850 to 1907 during the height of the California gold rush. Of all the gold coins minted before 1907, the Double Eagle had the highest gold content. “The $20 Double Eagle is an elusive coin and is quite rare. It is sure to attract some major coin experts and collectors.” stated Paul Sabesky, Chief Auctioneer. Designed by James Longacre, this is the first year of coins minted in the $20 amount and design. The coin features the Liberty head surrounded by 13 stars on the front, and contains a “Twenty D” on the reverse side of the coin.

Additional auction highlights include a 1884CC United States Morgan Silver Dollar, 1911 $2.5 U.S. Indian Head Gold Coin, Antique Model 5 National Nickel Plated Cash Register, and a Rolex Women’s 1997 Stainless Steel & Gold Watch.

Government Auction´s Sunday, May 27, 2012 auction event will commence at 6:30 a.m. Pacific Time/9:30 a.m. Eastern Time.
