South Florida’s Pronto Post Prepares for the 2012 Medicare Open Enrollment Season

Pronto Post, South Florida´s largest direct marketing and product fulfillment company, is already preparing for the 2012 Medicare open-enrollment season. For the three months of open enrollment, the increase in literature fulfillment work will increase Pronto´s employment rate and boost revenue.

Literature fulfillment is one of three specialty services that Pronto provides, along with mail fulfillment and product fulfillment. Pronto has been handling open-enrollment literature fulfillment for several major Medicare insurance providers for a number of years.

Between October and December each year, open enrollment season hits Pronto with a pronounced increase in demand from these insurance providers for literature fulfillment services–plans need to be solidified prior to the season. Material needs to be printed, and space for that material needs to be assessed and allocated before it arrives.

Preparation involves kitting, or creating kits of information, applications, directories, and promotional material for distribution to prospective enrollees. Each insurance provider creates a unique package for each county they serve, including versions in Spanish, English, and, for some countries, Creole.

The high-volume, labor-intensive work required to create and distribute kits demands additional employees. Pronto must balance this demand with its services for existing mail fulfillment and product fulfillment customers.

“The open enrollment period is a hectic time for Pronto Post. Each year the activity increases, and this year we expect even higher volumes,” Diamond said. “This is good for employment leading into the holiday season and provides a boost of revenue at the end of the year.”

Pronto currently focuses its open-enrollment literature fulfillment efforts on insurance companies serving markets in Florida, but the company hopes to expand its reach into other southern states.

“Pronto has developed relationships with several Medicare insurance providers in South Florida, such as AvMed and Preferred Care Partners,” Pronto´s general manager Andrew Diamond said. “Florida is a huge market for Medicare providers, and South Florida has a large Hispanic population eligible for Medicare. As our insurance partners grow, some expand the number of countries that we prepare kits for, and some are looking to expand their service into neighboring states.”
