Monroe County Event to Showcase Success of County’s Comprehensive e-Prosecution Solution in Sharing Data, Reducing Costs and Expediting Justice
MONROE, Mich., June 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Prosecutors and law enforcement officials from Michigan and surrounding states are invited to attend a Lunch and Learn event next month hosted by Monroe County, Mich., to showcase its successful, new electronic prosecution solution.
The county launched a comprehensive, end-to-end, digital prosecution solution in late 2011 that facilities two-way electronic communication and promotes data sharing among law enforcement and the prosecutor’s office to expedite and improve justice. The solution, which was implemented by Southfield, Mich.-based ImageSoft, Inc., provides prosecutors with an application to electronically manage and try a case via a laptop computer. This eliminates the need for a physical case file. The discovery, subpoena and docketing processes are electronic as well, significantly improving overall office efficiency. In addition, the system enhances transparency and accountability by tracking all communication between prosecutor and law enforcement agencies.
Monroe County Prosecutor William Paul Nichols, who spearheaded the technology initiative, will discuss and demonstrate the solution at the Lunch and Learn on July 18 in Monroe County.
