Tactus Receives Innovation Awards from SID & CEA
FREMONT, Calif., July 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Tactus Technology, Inc. today announced it has received two “Best of Show” awards within 30 days of its first public demonstrations of the company’s next-generation tactile user interface. Tactus enhances touchscreens with the ability to offer real physical buttons, shapes, or guidelines that rise out of the surface and then recede to invisibility when no longer needed. A video demonstration may be seen at http://vimeo.com/43431035 and a whitepaper explaining the technology is available on the company’s Website.
Tactus was selected by the Society for Information Display (SID) to demonstrate in the Innovation Zone at Display Week 2012, a reserved area highlighting the newest and most innovative display technologies. Tactus was also selected as a top 10 finalist in the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA®) Eureka Park Challenge at CE Week (New York City). Eureka Park Challenge was held in partnership with the National Science Foundation and recognizes startups with the most innovative and unique technologies.
Tactus won top honors at both events – cited as “Best Prototype” at SID and Grand Prize winner of the Eureka Challenge at CE Week. As part of its Eureka Challenge award, Tactus will be provided a free booth at CES® 2013 in Las Vegas.
