Andrew Yu to Lead Discussion on the Next Generation of Mobile

Modo Labs, the leading open source mobile platform provider, today announced that Chief Executive Officer Andrew Yu will speak at the Mass Technology Leadership Council´s (TLC) “Mobile Summit: The Next Generation” event on July 11. The event will feature Yu alongside some of the brightest minds in mobile to discuss and exchange ideas with investors, entrepreneurs, developers and designers. Over 200 respected universities use the Kurogo Mobile Platform to develop content-rich mobile websites and apps.

Unlike typical conferences, the Mass TLC event will feature Knowledge Sharing Sessions, hosted by experts such as Yu, and fueled by questions and comments from attendees. Yu and other panelists will provide real world case studies, ideas and theories, including examples of how Kurogo has helped leading universities such as Harvard, and MIT rapidly develop mobile websites and native apps.

About the Speaker

Andrew Yu is an expert on smartphones and mobile devices. In addition to his role as chief executive officer of Modo Labs, Yu also played a pivotal role in the development of the Kurogo Open Source Community, a community of educational institutions and enterprises with a shared interest in mobile development with hundreds of members from some of the top universities and organizations in the world.

Prior to his role with Modo Labs, Yu was the mobile platform manager, architect and instructor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), spearheading its mobility strategy, which included device recommendations, end-user support and application development. Yu co-instructs MIT´s Developing Mobile Applications computer science class, where student teams developed innovative software for various smartphone platforms in partnership with Google, Nokia and Microsoft.

He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences promoting mobile applications at universities and the author of the book The OS Wars: Smartphone systems battle for markets, published by CLSA. Yu graduated from Harvard University with a BA in physics and East Asian studies. He also studied electrical engineering and computer science at MIT.
