Animetrics Expands Footprint into Nation’s Capital
New office to provide local support for federal contracts and strategic partnerships.
Conway, N.H. (PRWEB) July 17, 2012
Animetrics, a leading developer of advanced 3D facial recognition and identity management solutions for military, intelligence and law enforcement, is pleased to announce the opening of a new office in Washington, D.C., focused on research and development, strategic partnerships and federal business development. Opening in July, this local presence will strengthen the firm’s ability to serve the intelligence community and its strategic relationships with key partners such as 3M Cogent, Scitor, BAH and CACI, as well as integrators of Animetrics’ 3D facial recognition technologies.
As the business continues its rapid growth, it is investing considerable engineering resources on mobile application and cloud technology development. To support this goal, Animetrics has named Dr. William A. Maniatty to the position of principal software engineer and senior architect to build and manage Animetrics’ new DC-based software development team alongside Animetrics Senior Scientist and Software Engineer Gary Zang.
Formerly an associate with Booz Allen Hamilton, Maniatty also brings a wealth of experience in data mining and computer security. His background includes providing technical expertise to a federal research agency for an integral software security research program. He previously held engineering and management roles at MITRE Corporation, AltaVault, LLC and IBM.
“With the continued growth and adoption of Animetrics’ 3D facial recognition technology by Animetrics strategic partners within the national intelligence and military communities, there is a growing need to establish a Washington D.C. office to support federal intelligence efforts,” said President and CEO Paul Scheupp. “We’re excited to be on the forefront of this field with advanced 3D facial biometric solutions, and look forward to expanding our presence in the months and years to come.”
The D.C. office will also be the hub of federal business activity for the firm. Federal Business Development Director John Little will lead this charge, expanding the facial recognition market further throughout the federal sector.
