The 2012 Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO) Conference was recently held in Round Rock, TX. As part of the annual conference, outstanding Texas municipal websites were honored during the TAMI Awards ceremony. Among this year´s award-winners were the City of Richardson and the City of Round Rock.

The new website for the City of Richardson was awarded the top-ranking TAMI Award within the population under 100,000 category, while the City of Round Rock website won the Silver Star award for cities with populations over 100,000.

Both award-winning Texas websites were brought to life by working with the nation´s leading government website development firm Vision Internet – The Government Website Experts.

Vision Internet´s government content management system — the Vision CMS – has been a powerful tool for both cities as they continue to grow their online community outreach through the continual evolution of their websites.

“Our goal was to find a content management system that was designed for municipal governments and had an intuitive design to help us better serve our community,” said Richardson’s Director of Communications Greg Sowell. “Vision Internet’s platform gave us the flexibility we needed to create a better online experience and improved upon our ability to update our website at an administrative level.”

TAMIO recognizes outstanding Texas municipal websites for their technological services and ability to reach out to community members via online resources.

Additional Vision Internet clients to win at the TAMI Awards include the City of Denton and the City of Grand Prairie.
