LeapPad2(TM) Sets New Pre-Sale Record

July 26, 2012

EMERYVILLE, Calif., July 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE:LF), the leader in educational entertainment, today announced that LeapPad2(TM), its new groundbreaking learning tablet for kids, sold as many pre-sale units in just two days as the original LeapPad(TM) did in a week. In fact, consumer demand is so high that leapfrog.com sold out of its initial quantities in less than a week. Expected to be one of the hot products of the 2012 holiday season, consumers should take advantage of the pre-sale from one of LeapFrog’s online retail partners so they are not left empty handed.

“We are thrilled by the sales of LeapPad2 during this initial pre-release event. LeapPad was the hottest kid’s item last holiday and early indicators show that LeapPad2 is poised for another great year,” said Greg Ahearn, chief marketing officer at LeapFrog. “LeapPad was recognized with three prestigious Toy of the Year awards by the Toy Industry Association, and we expect that the new LeapPad2 will be at the top of every kid’s holiday wish list this year as well.”

LeapPad2, the next generation of the #1 kid’s learning tablet, delivers engaging and fun entertainment that is filled with life changing education and creative exploration for kids. With new features including higher resolution front-and-back cameras and video recorders, faster LF 2000 processor and double the memory (4 GB), the new LeapPad2 provides kids with the ultimate entertainment experience. The kid-tough LeapPad2 also has improved battery life and is compatible with a new internal battery system and recharger pack available separately.

By year’s end, the LeapPad2 content library will feature more than 325 learning game cartridges and apps, music, videos, eBooks and more, that have all been individually selected and tested by LeapFrog’s highly experienced team of learning experts.

The library features a combination of LeapFrog’s top quality educational entertainment content and engaging content from many of the biggest names in children’s entertainment.

“LeapFrog has done it again with the new LeapPad2, and we are extremely pleased by the demand for LeapPad2 during our ongoing pre-sale,” said Richard Barry, chief merchandising officer at Toys”R”Us, U.S. “With the new features and upgrades, the next generation of this immersive educational product is sure to be among the most sought after items this holiday season.”
