The J.D. Power and Associates study measured network quality among all U.S. wireless service providers based on factors that impact overall carrier performance. Approximately 27,000 wireless subscribers were surveyed by J.D. Power and Associates between January and June 2012 about their experiences with wireless voice, text messaging and data usage. Based on their responses, Verizon Wireless performed significantly above the industry average in all six regions and ranked highest among national wireless companies in five regions, including the New York Metro Region.

“Today’s smartphones and tablets require a powerful network in order to make the most of all the features and functionality customers have come to expect from their wireless devices,” said Pat Devlin, president of the New York Metro Region, Verizon Wireless. “Verizon Wireless is firmly committed to providing customers in the New York Metro Region with the very best wireless experience by expanding, enhancing and maintaining our nationwide industry-leading wireless voice and data network.”

For a 16th consecutive reporting period, Verizon Wireless ranks highest by J.D. Power and Associates in the Northeast Region, which includes the New York Metro Region, as well as Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. Verizon Wireless achieves fewer customer-reported problems with dropped calls, initial connections, transmission failures and late text messages, compared with the regional average. Verizon Wireless also ranks highest in the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Southwest and West regions.
