August 28, 2012

Now fully compatible with Microsoft Windows 8, TrueUpdate enabled software is capable of performing quick, reliable software updates on all popular versions of Windows.

Winnipeg, MB (PRWEB) August 27, 2012

Indigo Rose Software announces the availability of TrueUpdate 3.6 with full support for Microsoft Windows 8. TrueUpdate is a development tool that allows programmers to easily integrate an automated “check for update” feature into their software applications. Now no matter what version of Microsoft Windows their clients are using, software developers can ensure that the latest point release of a software product is automatically delivered.

TrueUpdate easily integrates into software applications in order to keep those programs automatically up to date. It works by contacting an update server where the software’s status is checked against a set of developer specified rules. If an update is required, the TrueUpdate client software downloads and applies the update using standard server protocols. TrueUpdate uses a compact client executable that interfaces with any standard web server, giving developers full control over every part of the update process.

“Indigo Rose is excited to launch this new version of TrueUpdate,” said Colin Adams, President of Indigo Rose Software. “TrueUpdate 3.6 is certified Windows 8 compatible, which means that no matter which operating system our users’ clients are running, they will be getting the fast, reliable automated updating service TrueUpdate has always delivered.”

TrueUpdate works with any software installation tool or binary patch builder, including Indigo Rose’s Setup Factory and Visual Patch products. It can be customized to suit the developers specific needs and offers virtually unlimited flexibility. The TrueUpdate client executable is compatible with Microsoft Windows 95 straight through to Microsoft Windows 8.

TrueUpdate features include silent updating, customizable dialogs, automatic firewall and proxy server negotiation, a multilingual user interface, a compact and standalone client application, and more. An intuitive Project Wizard walks software developers through the various automatic updating steps: identifying file versions, configuring patch download locations and uploading the update information to the server.

For maximum customization, TrueUpdate offers an easy-to-use scripting language featuring loops and conditional branching, variables, functions, associative arrays, and more. There are also hundreds of high-level functions for executing programs, making registry changes, starting and stopping services, parsing XML data, reading ZIP files, interacting with Web scripts, and others.

TrueUpdate sells for $395 (US$) per developer or $995 for the Five Developer Team Pack. It can be purchased through all major software development tools resellers, or directly from Indigo Rose Software at http://www.indigorose.com/products/trueupdate/. A free 30-day trial download is also available.
