Westcon Group Brings Portfolio of Hardware Bundles for Microsoft Lync to North America
TARRYTOWN, N.Y., Sept. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Westcon Group, a value-added distributor of category-leading unified communications, network infrastructure, data centre and security solutions with a global network of specialty resellers, today announced it will now offer solutions, bundles, and services of hardware for the Microsoft® Lync® deployments in North America. The move comes only a few months after similar offerings were made available across EMEA.
Westcon’s Hardware Catalogue for Lync brings together tested and qualified phones, gateways, video and USB devices for partners. This enables both partners and customers to take advantage of the broad choice, price range and variety of hardware solutions for Lync – in a simpler and more efficient way.
“Westcon brings a unique value proposition to the table – offering integrated partner enablement that joins product, sales and pre-sales, marketing, services and training,” said Steve Bernard, Vice President, Westcon Convergence North America. “Leveraging our rich history of supporting unified communications technology, we know partners can effectively generate new revenue opportunities working with Westcon and Microsoft Lync partners.”
As part of the agreement, Westcon will provide bundles and special offers of hardware qualified for Lync. These incremental per-product and multi-unit purchase discounts and bundles are available not only to current Westcon partners, but also to Microsoft’s community of former Voice Specialized Partners and Gold and Silver Communications Competency Partners via the Lync Hardware Catalogue. Westcon’s inaugural bundle will include technologies from Polycom, AudioCodes, Jabra, and Acme Packet.
“Microsoft Lync is specifically designed to help customers drive improved productivity, increased mobility, and faster response times via an integrated unified communications platform,” said Scott Brown, Senior Director, Worldwide Lync Enterprise Voice at Microsoft. “Westcon continues to prove itself as a thought leader in this space – offering technology expertise and integrated services necessary to ensure that system integrators can help customers get the most from Lync. Westcon’s new offerings will help the market take a step closer to a simplified unified communications solution.
Westcon is also working to integrate Lync technology with complimentary solutions from its unified communications portfolio, including Acme Packet and F5, among others. The company expects to extend the range of partners and products available as the relationship develops.
