Lilitab LLC introduces Lilitab Swipe-a versatile and stylish iPad kiosk and credit card reader.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) September 30, 2012

The Lilitab Swipe extension to Lilitab´s line of secure iPad kiosks brings mobile Point of Sale (POS) solutions to wherever merchants need them to be. The card reader comes integrated into the Lilitab enclosure so it does not appear as an add-on or afterthought to the system. This provides customer assurance that no “bolted on” device is skimming their personal data. Integration at the enclosure lets customers know their transaction and card data is secure.

The Lilitab Swipe is offered as an unencrypted or encrypted option. Encrypted reader versions encrypt right at the reader head so no sensitive data is ever seen by the device, iOS or application. Device Unique Key Per Transaction (DUKPT) key management assures that no two swipes produce the same encrypted data, even if the same card is swiped twice in a row. Encryption at the head provides a big advantage to POS app developers as well. Sensitive customer data is never in the tablet or app, reducing merchant´s Payment Card Industry (PCI) liability scope and development time to market.

In addition to bank and credit cards, Lilitab Swipe also supports AAMVA formatted driver´s licenses. Hospitals and medical clinics can use this feature for ID verification prior to insurance co-payment.

Lilitab provides a starter app, LilySwipe (available in the Apple App Store), as well as a Software Development Kit (SDK) with sample starter projects. Applications can be either native iOS or web-based, using a native iOS “wrapper” to move data from the card reader to a web page. Sample web pages for both ISO (bank) and driver´s license cards, provide starter JavaScript methods showing web developers how they can handle card swipe data. The LilySwipe app lets merchants test their hardware right out of the box using their own e-commerce or other website.

“The Lilitab iPad® kiosk hits the mark on price, simplicity”, writes Michael Rose with TUAW (The Unofficial Apple Weblog). “Rule #1 of iPad kiosks is, of course, make sure we don´t lose the iPad. That´s among the strengths of Lilitab´s kiosk line.” Retailers, hotels, and restaurants engage their customers using the same secure iPad self-service kiosk. Customers can research-and even purchase-special orders and services using the Lilitab Swipe. Loyalty cards integrated with the Lilitab Swipe seamlessly rewards customers for their repeat business.

Lilitab iPad kiosks are versatile, modular, and easy to customize. The Lilitab Tabletop turns any desk or table into a self-service station with quick installation; the Lilitab Surface is for a more permanent solution for a wall or counter. Keyboard and printer shelves are also available as added accessories. Lilitab offers custom branding, banner mounts and eye-catching backdrops to promote special offers or seasonal activities.

The Lilitab iPad enclosure head unit securely locks the tablet in place. Every mounting solution has the option to be bolted or cable-locked to the floor or other surface. Integrated from the very beginning, merchants can be sure their iPad resources are safe in public venues.

The iPads remain fully charged when plugged into an outlet using the integrated charging cable in each stand. Kiosk set-up is quick and easy; just attach an iPad, secure the head unit, and plug in the power cord.

Installing different home button access faceplates regulates customer interactions. Full web access, a single site or specific applications define the varying customer experiences.

Full ADA compliance assures the Lilitab Swipe provides easy iPad interactions for wheelchair customers.

Lilitab Swipe iPad kiosks support all existing versions of the Apple iPad. Android models will be available in Q4 2012.
