new campaign

BITKOM, Germany’s leading information technology trade association, has revealed that
applications from foreign European citizens have risen rapidly in 20%

of total German tech companies, thanks to an exponential
increase in the number of available positions.

Germany is currently going through an IT boom, and with other European nations
struggling with high unemployment, the country is proving to be an attraction for skilled
workers from a number of different nations. Germany is currently responsible for 20% of
the total IT market in Europe, with the Director of Investment at Germany Trade & Invest
indicating that there are now plenty of “chances for international companies to come to
Germany.” Developments in cloud computing and new technologies are expected to further
fuel the boom in coming years.

Larry Ellison, CEO of world renowned technology firm Oracle, has used his keynote
address at the Oracle OpenWorld

event to pledge his support to the growing
integrated software market. In particular, Mr. Ellison welcomed an announcement by systems
integration firm TEAM Informatics, which will this week launch a new range of software
designed to integrate existing Oracle technologies for business users.

Sites Connector, the key piece of software in the company’s new range, will provide
participating businesses with a single platform on which to control all of their Oracle
enterprise software, with Product Manager Wayne Boerger noting that “customers have been
very excited about the new web experiences capabilities.” The products are expected to be
available later in the year.

Babylon, a market leading provider of online translation software, has marked
International Translation Day

with the launch of a new advertising campaign. The “Babylon is the
One for Me” campaign consists of a number of homemade video clips detailing why fans of
the site use the software.

Babylon is already the most downloaded translation software in the world, providing
over 100 million daily term translations in 77 different languages. The company is
currently active in over 228 territories worldwide, delivering what its VP of Marketing
describes as “quality, feature rich translations” to users.

In addition to popular language options including Spanish, French and German, Babylon
also offers translations in lesser used dialects such as Basque, Pashto and Hausa, in an
effort to “connect people around the world by enabling them to understand and
communicate.”
