PolicyPak Brings Application Settings Control to Citrix XenDesktop

October 4, 2012

PolicyPak clients can now use Active Directory Group Policy or their own management tool to deliver applications and lockdown application settings, control software updates and bolster security on applications running through Citrix XenDesktop.

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) October 03, 2012

PolicyPak, the producer of desktop management software that delivers, enforces and remediates application settings, has added Citrix XenDesktop to its growing list of high-profile integrations.

With the new integration, IT Admins using PolicyPak in conjunction with Microsoft Group Policy, SCCM or a customer´s own management tool, can control applications´ automatic updates, perform the lockdown of settings, and ensure security on common desktop and corporate applications running within Citrix XenDesktop.

“Citrix XenDesktop has some amazing add-ons including profile management and personal vDisk, but there´s no guarantee that you can stop employees from changing settings or even downloading unwanted software updates in this virtual environment,” says Jeremy Moskowitz, a well-known IT management expert and founder of PolicyPak Software.

“PolicyPak delivers these important settings, and enables admins to gray-out or hide application settings from workers. This increases security and produces a big drop in help desk calls from employees who change what you put into place – and have no clue how to fix their mistakes. You don´t want standard users working around corporate IT policies.”

A lightweight extension within the XenDesktop VDI session is all that´s needed to run the software. This means PolicyPak requires no server installation, and can be downloaded and ready to use in just a few seconds.
