Village Recognition Elevates Utopia Global Inc.’s Star
MUNDELEIN, Ill., Oct. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Utopia, a leading global enterprise data solutions provider, is one of four businesses slated to receive the Gold Star Award in October from the Mundelein Village Board and Mundelein Economic Development Commission. The award honors Mundelein businesses that contribute to the local community in an exemplary manner.
Utopia’s 106 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) between 2008 and 2011 earned it a spot in August on Inc.’s 31(st) annual list of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. With more growth on the horizon, the company keeps its pipeline of future workers filled through its intensive, three-month paid training program at the company’s global headquarters in Mundelein, Ill., just north of Chicago.
Trainees work alongside experienced hires on client projects in a dedicated training center, hoping to graduate to salaried positions as Data Migration Consultants. Over the past year, the company hired 50 trainees, including residents from Mundelein, nearby suburbs and Chicago.
“We are extremely pleased and honored about being a Gold Star Award recipient,” said Philip Kelley, Utopia’s Director of Global Human Resources. “While our 2013 plans call for Utopia to expand globally into Latin America, Asia and Europe, as for our world headquarters, Mundelein is where we plan to stay.”
Kelley will accept the award during a presentation by Mayor Kenneth Kessler and Economic Development Commission Chairman Larry Gallas at the Mundelein Village Board meeting, October 8, at 1000 N. Midlothian Road.
“The Mundelein Gold Star Award is given to companies or businesses, like Utopia, that have furthered the well being of Mundelein through building and/or landscaping improvements, hiring of employees or bringing significant employment that can contribute to the overall economic activity in the village,” Gallas said.
