is raking in kudos for its development and business abilities. Last month’s recognition by
Security Products magazine for Milestone XProtect(R) Smart Client 7 as the ‘Security
Software Product of the Year’ was followed by Axis Communications presenting two awards to
Milestone as Partner of the Year 2011 for India and Partner of the Year 2011 for South
Asia Pacific (SAP) covering the entire region for Asia, Australia, India and New Zealand.
The 2012 Alfred P. Sloan Award for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility
has also been announced for Milestone’s ability to foster an effective workplace.
Product Innovation
Security Products magazine’s ‘New Product of the Year Award’ honors outstanding
development achievements of companies whose products are considered particularly
noteworthy in their ability to improve security. More than 90 entries were received for
eighteen categories ranging from access control and cameras to mobile security and
wireless technology.

The Axis Channel Convergence Conference (ACCC) 2012 event took place 26-28 September

past year. Nominations were submitted by local Axis sales teams for the high performance
partners in their field; senior Axis executives voted to determine the winners.
Milestone was selected as Partner of the Year for three important criteria: strong
integration skills from ongoing, dedicated device driver development for the latest models
of cameras and encoders, invested resources for joint workshops and concerted efforts to
enhance collaborative business opportunities, and value-adding relationship management
through Milestone support of the partner network, working closely with system integrators.
Workplace Flexibility Excellence
Milestone Systems has also been honored with the 2012 Alfred P. Sloan Award for
Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility, which fosters a workplace strategy
to increase business and employee success. Workplace flexibility – such as flextime,
part-time work and compressed workweeks – has been demonstrated to help businesses remain
competitive while benefiting employees.
This prestigious award is part of the U.S. national ‘When Work Works’ project
administered by the Families and Work Institute and the Society for Human Resource
Management, recognizing employers of all sizes and types across the country. The Sloan
Awards are unique for their rigorous, two-step selection process, which involves an
evaluation of employers’ flexibility programs and practices, and a confidential employee
survey. All applicants are measured against norms from the National Study of Employers.
