Hot Spring Spas Celebrates 35 Years of Hot Tubbers
VISTA, Calif., Oct. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Hot Spring® Spas, the world’s number one selling hot tub brand, commemorates 35 years in business by celebrating 35 years of hot tubbers. Using social media and a new story gathering platform on www.HotSpring.com the company invites the owners of the almost 900,000 Hot Spring Spas sold since 1977 to share their favorite memories, stories and anecdotes. The stories will be evaluated for originality and overall representation of the Hot Spring Spa experience by a group of hot tubbers within the company. The winner of this promotion will receive a trip for four to San Diego, including a visit to the Hot Spring Spas manufacturing plant.
“When a corporate anniversary is celebrated there is an inclination for many companies to focus on sales, product innovation or accolades,” said Kacy Rivers, Product Manager for Hot Spring Spas. “Hot Spring has, and will always be focused on our loyal customers- so for us it only made sense to celebrate our hot tubbers!”
35 Years of hot tubs . . . centuries of history.
Today’s hot tub enthusiasts can trace their roots to people in ancient civilizations who used natural hot springs and baths for health, relaxation and healing. The birth of the modern whirlpool spas or “hot tubs” in the 1970s enabled anyone to bring that experience into their home. Hot Spring was an early innovator and has always asserted that there was more to hot tubbing than just soaking in water.
“After 35 years we understand that, for our owners, their spa is not just a box of water; it’s a personal connection center,” said Rivers. Stories and testimonials from Hot Spring Spa owners over the years recount moments not just of relaxation, but of connection to family, friends, nature and their own inner beings.
“Hot Spring owners are passionate advocates for our brand and a healthy lifestyle that includes regular hot tub use,” said Rivers. The reasons for this advocacy are personal but also based on the documented benefits that come from hot tub use. “Our bodies make adjustments when we are immersed in water . . . These changes include increased circulation, more efficient breathing, and improvements in mood,” from “Hot Water and Healthy Living” by J.B. Smith, PhD, Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Hot Spring pioneered many features and innovations that are now standards for the hot tub industry including fully insulated shells, underwater lighting, integration of multiple jet pumps and locking covers. The company also developed the patented moving Moto-massage® jet; examples of innovation that continue to this day.
The Hot Spring Spas 35(th) Anniversary Stories contest runs through November 14, 2012. Hot Spring owners can submit their stories at www.hotspring.com. After entering, owners that “like” Hot Spring Spas on Facebook will also receive a free, “I’m a Hot Tubber,” beach towel. Winners will be announced on December 4, 2012.
