December 18, 2012

The 11th annual conference and exhibition will host the IEEE Technical Committee´s RFID event for the fifth year running.

New York, NY (PRWEB) December 17, 2012

RFID Journal announced today that for the fifth year in a row, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) will hold its annual RFID event–the IEEE International Conference on RFID (IEEE RFID)–in conjunction with RFID Journal LIVE! 2013 (http://www.rfidjournalevents.com/live), the world’s premier conference and exhibition focused on radio frequency identification (RFID) and its many business applications. The two events will be held from Apr. 30 to May 2, at the Orange County Convention Center, located in Orlando, Fla.

“The combination of IEEE RFID and RFID Journal LIVE! offers a unique opportunity for industry and academic participants to network and form new collaborations across traditional RFID applications, as well as exciting new areas.” said Matt Reynolds, IEEE 2013′s general chair. “This year, new areas of biomedical applications, cutting-edge communication techniques, and power harvesting will be featured at IEEE RFID. We invite all participants, whether from industry or academia, to participate in the event and share their newest, cutting-edge ideas that will help define the future of RFID.”

The 2013 IEEE International Conference on RFID, sponsored by the IEEE Technical Committee on RFID (CRFID), is the premier conference for exchanging all technical RFID-related research. The conference, which attracts attendees from a mix of international practitioners and researchers from industry and academia, spans numerous disciplines. Hot topics this year will include multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO), ultra-wideband (UWB), power harvesting and biomedical applications. IEEE RFID 2013 presents an opportunity to share timely research results in all areas of RFID technologies and their applications.

“IEEE´s event is the world´s most important RFID technical event, and combining it with LIVE!´s focus on the business value of RFID only makes sense,” said Mark Roberti, RFID Journal’s founder and editor. “This is a partnership that serves the best interests of both of our audiences.”

LIVE! 2013 will feature four industry-specific and four how-to conference tracks, as well as eight in-depth preconference seminars and workshops, fast-track training, and the RFID Journal Awards. In addition, the conference will offer live demonstrations and contests in the industry´s largest exhibit space, featuring the leading technology firms.

The conference tracks will cover such industries as defense and aviation, health care and pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, retail and apparel, and technology and infrastructure, as well as application topics explaining how to deploy RFID, enhance visibility and traceability, and improve supply chain and logistics. The preconferences and workshops will provide in-depth education in such areas as security and access control, harsh environments, warehouse and inventory management, and retail and apparel, with specified programs for IT professionals, suppliers and the Near Field Communication (NFC) sector. What’s more, the program will include RFID Journal University, the company’s most popular preconference, providing foundational knowledge regarding RFID technologies.
