Packages of School Supplies with Custom Stickers Donated by Lightning Labels to be Delivered by Classroom Central to Thousands of Children Living in Poverty

Denver, CO (PRWEB) December 27, 2012

Lightning Labels, a custom label and sticker printing leader, is doing its part in spreading holiday cheer to the less fortunate by partnering with Classroom Central this January. Lightning Labels has agreed to provide stickers and labels that will promote the Classroom Central cause and be used on school supplies it distributes to needy students and educators.

“We are so happy to partner with Classroom Central on such a worthwhile venture,” says Business Development Manager AnneMarie Campbell. “Lightning Labels realizes the need for local schools to have the best supplies necessary not just for the students, but also for their teachers. We are thrilled to be able to donate labels to the cause.”

Custom Labels Used as Branding Tool for Classroom Central: Lightning Labels has been a resource for manufacturers that want to use customized labels as a marketing tool, and the partnership with Classroom Central is no different.

Classroom Central operates the Free Store for teachers, which distributed more than $5.7 million in school supplies to more than 9,000 teachers last year. More than 132,000 students in more than 200 schools in North and South Carolina were able to benefit from the program, and Classroom Central hopes to be able to reach more underprivileged students in the coming months.

In response to the growing need and successful Free Store program, Classroom Central has developed a pilot Mobile Free Store that will kick off January 2013 and hand-deliver supplies to needy schools. The classroom supplies will be packaged in paper boxes displaying labels that clearly state Classroom Central as the benefactor, which will simultaneously raise awareness about the program with other potential donors and supply recipients.

“We will be the first organization in the country to be able to execute a program of this magnitude,” says a spokesperson from Classroom Central. “It is quite a herculean effort, but we are up for the challenge.”

Making Custom Labels and Packaging Go The Distance: Lightning Labels has been a resource for eco-minded manufacturers to create sustainable, eco-friendly labels, and the partnership with Classroom Central remains true to that.

The nonprofit Free Store will package the school supplies into boxes bearing the custom label stickers provided by Lightning Labels, and the paper boxes will be distributed to underprivileged schools, educators and students. The boxes will be returned to Classroom Central and reused several times as a way to keep expenses down and use the money to buy even more school supplies.

Classroom Central currently offers Free Store services to six districts but hopes to be able to service all the schools in the largest district within the next two years, which includes 159 schools, more than 1,200 teachers and 76,000 students.

About Classroom Central:

Starting in 2000, the nonprofit organization Classroom Central began with a team of local business leaders who wanted to give needy kids and schools the necessary supplies to further their education and classroom experience. The Free Store began after the Carolina Panthers Children’s Charities gifted the organization with a $200,000 donation. Since its inception, Classroom Central has made it its mission to provide school supplies to educators and students in six districts in North and South Carolina, including Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Gaston, Iredell-Statesville, Union, Kannapolis and Lancaster by relying on support through financial donations, volunteers, service providers and supply donors.
