Sales Training firm Sandler Training in Lone Tree, Colorado has just announced a new communication and presentation skills training program to be launched in 2013. The program is called Digital Detox: Communication Skills for “Generation Y”.
“As the father of teenagers it really hit me that these children of the digital age have never known a world without cell phones and the internet. Texting has replaced verbal communication as the preferred method of relating to others.” said Chuck Terry the President of Sandler Training. Mr. Terry added “At Sandler we already have world class content on how to effectively communicate and influence others one on one in a positive way. By packaging this training in a format that is more accessible and relatable to “Generation Y” we will be able to help teens transform from texting to relating verbally at a high level as they prepare for college and beyond.”
The program will be in pilot form by February 1st and available for open enrollment by later in the month. Sandler hopes to work with major school districts in making the program available on a wide-spread basis.
“We want to pilot the program initially with a select group of teens and their parents to make sure we are hitting the mark dead on.” says Chuck Terry. “We have great content but the secret will be packaging it in a fun and fully engaging format so the teens don´t check out. We will teach both individual and group presentation skills as part of the program. We have already been approached by the private sector about adapting the program for college students just entering the workplace as well.”
