ABN AMRO Renews Contract by Three Years

January 30, 2013

UTRECHT, Netherlands, January 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ –

Card Payment Processing Remains With Equens

ABN AMRO and Equens have signed a three-year contract for the processing of all of ABN
AMRO’s card payments. It concerns card payments by ABN AMRO cardholders as well as card
payments of retailers holding an ABN AMRO bank account. The renewal of the contract is
part of an earlier framework agreement between the two companies. Currently, Equens also
handles giro payment processing for ABN AMRO Bank.

Marcel Leeflang, head of Payments, Cash & Cards at ABN AMRO: “Each year, well over 2
billion electronic payments are made. As a result, payments in the Netherlands are highly
efficient. In addition to many years of experience in payments, Equens has a thorough
knowledge of the Dutch market. Furthermore, Equens is continually working to improve the
processing infrastructure, which benefits the reliability and continuity of payments.”

Michel Stuijt, General Manager of Market Management: “We are pleased that ABN AMRO
Bank has again selected Equens for the processing of its card payments. With the increased
competition among payment processors in Europe, contract renewal is no longer a matter of
course. Our cooperation is excellent, and reliable payments for cardholders and retailers
are always our primary concern.”
