Refusing to stay behind the tough competition, Nokia resurfaced the scene through its
Windows 8 smartphones, in partnership with Microsoft Corporation. The Lumia series
received positive response, especially in Europe. The company increased 1.97 percent to
$4.15. Nokia CEO Steven Elop expressed his confidence in the new smartphone models, also

the deal, 400 VimpelCom workers will move to Ericsson headquarters. Starting April,
Ericsson will manage and service more than 10,000 base stations and 6,200 miles of
fiber-optic lines for VimpelCom. As wireless carriers in Europe curb infrastructure

Juniper Networks, Inc. Research Report

With the acquisition of Contrail, a software-defined networking (SDN) startup company,
Juniper may take advantage of the growing networking industry due to the evolution of the
service providers and enterprises towards SDN-based networks. It has been projected that
the 2013 revenue from the SDN market will be around $360 million and $3.7 billion by 2016.
The Contrail acquisition will provide Juniper more flexibility and control over its SDN
direction. For Q1 2013, the company projects revenue to be around $1.1 million and EPS
ranging from 18 cents to 22 cents, in line with analysts’ expectations. The Full Research

concentrating on OpenFlow, instead, the company has expanded its Application Fluency
approach to intelligent aware network by adding Representational State Transfer to its
API’s. This will allow other applications, controllers, platforms to interact with Alcatel
OmniSwitch tools faster and more efficiently. The company also recently launched a new
smartphone model, known as the One-Touch Star. The company’s stock increased 4.40 percent
to $1.66 and will not be paying a dividend for FY 2012. The Full Research Report on

Corning Incorporated Research Report

Telecommunications equipment suppliers seem to benefit from the smartphone revolution.
LCD glass maker Corning is an Apple supplier, specifically the Gorilla Glass, which has
been a breakthrough for Corning. The company continues to focus on breakthrough
innovations while at the same time leveraging existing capabilities and assets to
penetrate new markets and generate quick returns. Smartphone volume growth is expected to
continue in the future, as well as demand for tablet computers. Corning CEO Wendell Weeks
also noted that large screen sizes for electronic devices require more cover glass, and
touch technology moving to notebook computers creates a new growth opportunity. The Full
