Census.us.org to Give People Criminal Records Checks with Their Census Look-Ups

Census.us.org will now allow their customers to have information about any criminal records associated with a census they look up, company officials said.

“We know that many people use our service to protect themselves,” a company representative said. “This will add another layer of protection to help keep them as safe as possible.”

People go to Census.us.org when they want information about a census records. Sometimes this happens when they get contact from a new potential business contract, the company said, while other people use it to make sure a potential romantic partner is who they claim to be.

“When people meet through online dating sites, often the only rock solid information they’ll have is the name of a person,” the official said. “In the past they would use our service to make sure they were getting the right information. Now they can also find out criminal records about someone.”

Under the new service, when people search a name they will be criminal records as well as any arrest records, conviction records, jail records, and active warrants associated with a person.

“If someone is claiming a statistic or fact about a record, wouldn’t you want to know if they’re wrong?” the official said. “With our new system, that information will be at your fingertips.”
