March 1, 2013

Colle Farmers Market, the online network of organic farmers markets and advocate for the organic foods community, responds to reports of an upcoming organic farming exhibit to be held in Vermont in March.

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) March 01, 2013

On March 1, Colle Farmers Market responds to an organic farming exhibit that will be opening in March 2013, according to an article from the Times Argus.

The exhibit is the result of two years of collaboration between a farming photographer and an agricultural writer. The exhibit, entitled “Plowing Old Ground: Vermont´s Organic Farming Pioneers,” will be on display at the Vermont History Museum in Montpelier starting March 16. It will be a mix of words and pictures compiled by agricultural writer Susan Harlow and black-and-white photographer John Nopper.

According to the Times Argus, the exhibit tells “the stories of six working Vermont farms and their farmers. Two in central Vermont – Joey Klein of Littlewood Farm in Plainfield and Bruce Kaufman of Riverside Farm in Hardwick – are highlighted.” Howard Prussack, of High Meadows Farm in Putney, will be featured in the exhibit as the first officially certified organic farmer in the state of Vermont.

The exhibit will feature other notables on the local organic farming scene — including Samuel Kaymen, a writer and organic farming advocate, along with other farmers, including “Jack and Anne Lazor of Butterworks Farm in Westfield, Paul Harlow of Harlow Farm in Westminster and Jake and Liz Guest of Killdeer Farm in Norwich.”

Colle Farmers Market, an advocate for the organic farming community, applauds the exhibit, saying that it is important to educate people on organic farming techniques and what it can offer for farmers and consumers alike. Awareness-raising is especially important with the agricultural industry struggling, and a great way to do this is to educate people about the rich social and economic history of farming and of the organic movement, says Colle.

Colle is an E-Commerce enabled farmers market community that is passionate about sustainable consumption and responsible conservation. The Colle movement is dedicated to connecting natural product vendors, organic farmers and all people who are living an organic and natural lifestyle.
