Making friends and keeping them are important life skills to have. Some simple ways to teach kids about being a good friend are telling them what a good friend should do. Things such as doing kind things for others, using a kind language, helping out when the friend is sad or has a problem, spending time together and having fun with one another are part of being a good friend.
Reading books about friendship, setting good examples by being a role model, developing friendships in the community, and simply talking to people are some important steps towards building relationship skills.
What is kindness is another important lesson to teach children. True kindness is born out of love. True kindness requires a heart for service. True kindness is constant and does not show favoritism. There are many ways to encourage kindness in the children. Being a role model to be friendly and generous to all people is one of the most important lessons for kids. Talking about speaking the truth, sharing, being polite and forgiving are also essential for being kind.
