CTIA-The Wireless Association® Welcomes Heather Blanchard as Director of Wireless Internet Development

WASHINGTON, March 4, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — CTIA-The Wireless Association® announced that beginning today, Heather Blanchard will serve as its director of Wireless Internet Development (WID), focused on spotting emerging trends in wireless and identifying new initiatives for the association to further mobile Internet adoption. Blanchard’s responsibilities include acting as a liaison among CTIA, its members and Internet companies in Silicon Valley as well as engaging the app developer and app storefront communities.

Previously, Blanchard served as a strategic communications consultant for New Cicada, where she cultivated partnerships with mobile Internet companies and worked with the European Commission to provide advice on emerging technologies, web entrepreneurship and innovation. She was the business liaison director for technology and telecommunications at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, where she worked on behalf of the Assistant Secretary to build relationships in the technology, telecommunications and wireless Internet sectors. Blanchard has a Bachelor of Science in political science from Radford University and a Master of Arts in global communications from American University of Paris.
