Hearsay Social CEO and Founder Clara Shih (@clarashih), joined by Wells Fargo SVP and Director of Social Media, Renée Brown (@ReneeDBrown), will lead a session at SXSW Interactive this week, Say Goodbye to Corporate Marketing as You Know It. Traditionally, marketing has been about defining a brand´s key messages and finding clever and interesting ways to broadcast them. In this session, Ms. Shih and Ms. Brown will explain how it’s no longer enough to connect eyeballs to ads; today’s marketers must connect people to people. That means going social and getting down to individual relationships. The session will take place Sunday, March 10 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Austin (Capitol ABCD, 701 E 11th St) in Austin, TX. At the 2013 LOMA Customer Service Conference, Jason Suen, Global Head of Customer Success at Hearsay Social, will be leading a session on “Lessons from Insurance Industry Innovations on Social Media.” Mr. Suen will explain how insurance businesses like Farmers Insurance and Northwestern Mutual have quickly evolved from running simple social advertising campaigns to coordinating large-scale enterprise-wide social reconfigurations, all while maintaining compliance and good governance. The session will take place on Thursday, March 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Loews New Orleans Hotel in New Orleans, LA. Also speaking at the LOMA event this year are Amy Gunderson, senior director, enterprise contact center, Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America; Paige Scott, assistant vice president, group administration & operations, MetLife; and Jeff Knipp, director, customer experience & retention, Allstate Financial.
In April, Ms. Shih will join Time Warner Chairman and CEO Jeff Bewkes, FT West Coast Managing Editor Richard Waters, and Twitter UK Director Bruce Daisley at the Financial Times´ Digital Media Conference 2013 in London. Ms. Shih will help lead a panel on “The Business of Social” about how to use social media to drive sales while providing examples of brands successfully measuring the effectiveness and ROI of their social media campaigns. The panel will take place Thursday, April 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Grange St Paul’s Hotel in London, United Kingdom.
