WDM QSFP 100G Module Technology Demonstration by Kotura to Feature Anritsu MP1800A BERT
–High-speed Performance of New 100G Optical Modules for Data Center Fabrics to be Showcased Using MP1800A at OFC/NFOEC–
ANAHEIM, Calif., March 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Anritsu Company (booth #2519) announces that Kotura, the Silicon Photonics Company, will use Anritsu’s MP1800A BERT to demonstrate the performance of WDM QSFP 100G optical modules in the Kotura booth (#3618) during OFC/NFOEC, March 19-21, Anaheim, CA. The demonstrations featuring the MP1800A will showcase how the optical modules meet the high-speed demands of data centers and Next Generation Networks (NGNs).
“As the data center fabric moves from 10 Gb/s pipes and 40 Gb/s to 100 Gb/s pipes, they require optical modules that will deliver the additional bandwidth but not increase power consumption, size, or cost. Kotura selected the MP1800A, in part, because it integrates a multiple synchronized 28G BERT with a built-in Pulse Pattern Generator (PPG) that supports output of high-quality, low intrinsic jitter signals, as well as a built-in Error Detector (ED) with high input sensitivity. Additionally, the MP1800A has 3.5Vp-p high output voltage so it can drive optical components, such as the Kotura WDM QSFP 100G optical module.
