Ireland’s eircom Attracts New Customers, Boosts Profits With PayPal and Aptilo
STOCKHOLM, March 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ –
Ireland’s leading communications provider eircom Group [http://www.meteor.ie ] is
making it easier than ever for users to enjoy eircom’s WiFiHub network by adding PayPal as
a payment method for its WiFi access and micro-transactions, enabled by Aptilo Networks
[http://www.aptilo.com ], the leading provider of carrier-class WiFi service management
and offloading solutions.
The Aptilo deployment is eircom’s first commercial use of PayPal.
While the service is free for eircom Broadband, Meteor and eMobile customers,
non-eircom customers can now use PayPal in addition to credit cards to purchase access to
the eircom WiFiHub service. For non-eircom and eircom landline customers the service is
free for the first 10 minutes and then there is a flat rate charge of EUR1.00 which will
allow users to access the service up until midnight that day. eircom’s WiFiHub is
available in more than 1,900 hotspots across Ireland including at Irish Rail and DART
stations, in bars, restaurants, coffee shops, petrol stations and other public venues.
The network handles approximately one million WiFi sessions/month.
