The Law Offices of Edward A. Smith announces the publication of the California Motorcycle Accident Handbook. Available at no charge on Kindle (from April 5, 2013 to April 9, 2013 (5 days only).

Sacramento, CA (PRWEB) April 05, 2013

A recent study by the Centers for Disease Control found that although crash-related deaths involving cars and light trucks were at an all-time low, motorcyclist death rates had reached an all-time high, having increased by more than 50% just since 2001, and rates of non-fatal motorcyclist injuries requiring emergency room visits were up by more than 45%.

“Obviously, motorcyclists are much less well protected from injury than are passenger car occupants,” said Mr. Smith. “So the injuries resulting from impacts at similar speeds also tend to be much more significant for motorcyclists.” Further complicating matters for motorcyclists, there are fewer of them on the roadway than drivers of passenger cars and light trucks, so the people who handle the aftermath of motorcycle-related collisions — law enforcement personnel, doctors, insurance adjustors, personal injury attorneys, and the motorcyclists themselves — tend to be less familiar with the unique complexities of motorcycle-related collisions and the injuries that result. “This new publication is intended to provide motorcyclists with a road-map through the complicated personal injury claim process, and especially to highlight the critical ways in which motorcycle-related accidents, injuries, and claims are different,” said Smith.

Mr. Smith, who has been a trial attorney since 1982, has a coveted Avvo.com rating of 10.0, has successfully resolved thousands of California motorcycle accident cases, and provides free case evaluations for those who have suffered injuries in these types of collisions. Free information and resources are published on his website, and the new handbook is available through Amazon.com.
