Wayne, PA (PRWEB) April 23, 2013

SkillSurvey®, Inc., the inventor and leading provider of online reference-checking solutions, is pleased to announce that San Antonio Community Hospital of Upland, California, is now a client of SkillSurvey´s Pre-Hire 360® reference-checking solution.

The not-for-profit, standalone hospital employs about 2,000 professionals – including a 500-member medical staff – and is now using the system to gather feedback from references on hires across the organization.

“We used to ask applicants for their supervisors´ contact information so that we could call them for a reference-check, but we could never get much information from their supervisors,” said Marina Karkas, a recruiter at San Antonio Community Hospital. “We decided to implement SkillSurvey´s Pre-hire 360® and began receiving responses from four references per applicant, two of which are previous or current supervisors. The system is just so simple to use, and because responses are aggregated and confidential, we are able to receive valuable feedback about applicants within a few days.”

SkillSurvey´s Pre-Hire 360® automates the process of gathering input from a job applicant´s references by using behaviorally-based surveys delivered through a web-based platform. The surveys delve into a candidate´s strengths and developmental needs, as borne out on the job. Confidential input from managers, peers and subordinates provides a multi-dimensional view of the candidate´s past performance. The system overcomes the usual reticence of former employers, because they are released from legal liability and their feedback is not personally-identifiable.

“We now have a Pre-Hire 360® report completed on every applicant prior to bringing them in for the interview,” added Karkas. “It´s saved us significant interviewing time by preventing us from bringing in candidates who did not do well on their reference survey.”

“San Antonio Community Hospital joins a growing number of healthcare organizations that use SkillSurvey´s Pre-Hire 360® to improve efficiency and quality-of-hire,” said Ray Bixler, president and CEO of SkillSurvey®. “The hospital saves valuable time by eliminating reference-checking by phone and by avoiding candidates who do not exhibit behaviors for success at the hospital.”

San Antonio Community Hospital was founded in 1907 and has become a healthcare leader in Southern California’s rapidly expanding Inland Empire. In 2012, U.S. News & World Report named 21 of the hospital´s physicians to its Top Doctors List. The organization has also been recognized by Consumer Reports® for Patient Safety – Top 50 in California, and awarded a Healthgrades Emergency Medicine Excellence Award® (2010-2012). In 2013, the hospital will complete a 179,000-square-foot, four-story patient tower with 92 beds and a new 58,000-square-foot emergency department.
