ADOTAS.com reports that Coca-Cola broadened “its marketing strategy to appeal to the teen demographic” last week when they unveiled “The AHH Effect.” It is the brand´s first stab at a digital-only campaign with its content being designed to be mobile-first in hopes that it will appeal to the teen demographic and its “notably short attention spans and proclivity towards mini-games, funny videos and multimedia content.”
The campaign itself uses 61 URLs across the web that are interspersed with content bits centering on “The AHH Effect.” For example, the campaign “uses the URL ahh.com, ahhh.com, ahhhh.com and so forth with each succeeding ℠H´ in the URL ushering in a new experience.” According to the article, the URLs get longer and longer throughout the campaign with 17 so far in total.
The article goes on to report that in the upcoming weeks, “Coke will utilize paid and owned media via Facebook and Twitter to encourage teens to create their own software-based experiences for the brand. Out of the submissions, 25 will be selected to be included in ℠The AHH Effect´ run.”
