Larson Electronics announced today the release of the EPL-EMG-48-4L-LED-G2 Hazardous Location LED Light with Emergency Battery Backup which has been designed to provide explosion proof protection and emergency operation capability in the event of power outages. This hazardous location LED light fixture is constructed similarly to standard four bulb fluorescent fixtures, but now provides 30% more foot candles of illumination at eight feet than standard T8 lamps thanks to the addition of Larson Electronics´ second generation LED tubes. As well as high output, these LED light fixtures are designed as an easy upgrade from standard fluorescent fixtures and feature non-sparking aluminum construction for durability and corrosion resistance, and impact and heat resistant Pyrex tubes protect the LED bulbs against contamination from dust, dirt, overspray, and impacts. These units have no ballast, which provides an added degree of reliability over fluorescent fixtures as well as instant on operation with no warm up times or lamp flicker. An integrally mounted battery backup system located within the lamp housing provides 90 minutes of light operation in the event of power failures. When normal power to the unit is cut through power failure, the emergency backup battery automatically kicks in and provides 90 minutes of emergency illumination. Once power is restored, the backup battery is automatically recharged and readied for operation. These explosion proof LED lights are ideal for a wide variety of applications and are approved Class 1 Division 1, UL 595 outdoor marine type, and paint spray booth approved as well. The Epl-emg-48-2l-led is versatile in power options, capable of operating with current ranging from 120V to 277V AC 50/60hz, and available in 12-24 VDC configuration for low voltage applications. Magnalight offers mounting options including pendant, and surface mounting configurations, and can work with operators to custom configure fixtures according to their needs.

“The EPL-EMG-48-4L-LED-G2 is the latest in the line of our most popular explosion proof explosion LED lights, featuring more than 5,000 lumens per fixture,” said Rob Bresnahan with Magnalight.com. “During power outages, this explosion proof led light illuminates one LED bulb for 90 minutes at 900 lumens. The ability to automatically switch from normal power of 120V to 277V AC to battery back-up in hazardous areas during power outages is a design fit for any hazardous location.”
