Stradalli Cycle, the high performance carbon bicycle manufacturer, is pleased to announce that rowing world champion and 2008 Olympic gold medalist Lindsay Shoop has bought a Stradalli Verona full carbon road bike.

Linday´s list of wins is impressive by anyone’s measure. Not only was she part of the women´s eight that won the Olympic gold at the Beijing games in 2008. She was also part of the women´s eight that won gold at the 2007 and 2008 Rowing World Cup plus a member of the eight that won gold at the 2006 and 2007 World Rowing Championships in Lucerne.

She was also part of the eight that set a world record at 5:55.5 in Eton, England and was Henley Royal Regatta Champion in 2006, where the eight also set the course record. Since 2005 Lindsay has competed in eight World Cups in the pair, eight, or both, and has won a medal five times. Her latest gold medal was during the 2009 World Championships in Poland.

“Olympic gold medal winner, three times world championship medal winner. Lindsay is a superb athlete and we are proud to be able to supply her with one of our bicycles,” said Thomas Steinbacher. “It is a testimony to Stradalli that champions, like Lindsay, choose time and time again to buy one of our bicycles rather than one of the more expensive alternatives.”

Lindsay is an active athlete who enjoys cycling as a way to keep fit and build stamina. This is just as important in rowing as in any other sport. Her new Stradalli Verona full carbon road bike is the perfect machine for her workouts and pleasure rides. The Verona offers balanced performance over almost every terrain. It includes a BB30 bottom bracket and short chainstays which gives the bicycle amazing power transfer and responsive handling.

Although Lindsay likes to spend her “free time” cycling she is also close to finishing her first book, and has a growing list of aspirations, both as a lifelong athlete and aspiring author.
