Inexika has revealed an early prototype for its new personal tool for instant over-the-air access to IBM Lotus Notes databases from iPhone and Android mobile devices, with a working title “iWorkplace”. Featuring an extremely easy way to get connected by simply scanning a QR code from the screen of one´s computer, this app provides a rich mobile workplace enabling IBM Notes users to work with their data from virtually any place in the world, anytime.

While this eventually released prototype demonstrates ability to work with Lotus Notes email, Inexika announces support for broad range of applications, including not only personal information management ones, such as Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, but also collaborative ones, such as Discussion and Team Room.

“Our main goal is to provide the most convenient and seamless experience for users who have to leave their desk with enterprise Lotus Notes applications and continue their work with iPhones or Androids in their hands on the go,” commented Sergey Temnikov, CEO of Inexika, Inc. “Though, not only real-time access to essential applications is important. We want to help our users to get connected easily and literally instantly, without a need to read lengthy instructions and pass a number of exhausting configuration screens.”

The industry standard product offered by IBM for instant access to email and PIM applications — Notes Traveler requires a server-side installation with at least release 8 of IBM Domino. New tool being developed by Inexika gives freedom of wireless data access to any desktop user who has IBM Lotus Notes release 6.5 or later installed and owns an iPhone or Android handheld device.
