HGH Infrared Systems and SRI Sarnoff Impress at SOFIC Conference

Cambridge, MA (PRWEB) May 22, 2013

Last week, the Special Operations Forces Industry Conference in Tampa, FL, gathered 336 companies who had purchased their booths on the first day they went on sale, and as many companies on the waiting list were hoping to participate. Although the attendance was slightly down compared to the other years, the show still has great traction whereas other DOD shows were deserted this year.

Innovation was one of the themes chosen for this year´s edition. As such, HGH Infrared Systems

exhibited for the first time at SOFIC their unique 360 degree near real time passive “thermal radar”. This innovative compact sensor provides total situational awareness through a high resolution panoramic infrared video feed coupled with complex algorithms for intrusion detection and tracking. It is completely passive, easy to set up, ruggedized and proven: deployed in Afghanistan for the US Army, and in the Gulf of Yemen for the French Navy, the sensor operates both on land and maritime environments. It can also be easily mounted on a vehicle: HGH collaborated with SRI Sarnoff to develop the View 360, a vehicle kit with touch screen interface and intuitive display. The solution was featured at SOFIC this year, and at multiple demonstrations in the past, among which the TNT Special Forces demonstration in Camp Roberts last year.

As the Special Forces are expressing interest in 360 degree surveillance with cooled thermal capabilities, HGH will be at the front line to provide a mature, reliable and highly effective capability for situational awareness.
