SlimDoggy Announces the Dog Calorie and Food Calculator Widget

May 29, 2013

SlimDoggy announces the release of the SlimDoggy Web Widget, a Dog Calorie and Food Calculator that is available for all pet related websites and blogs to use and share with their readers.

Camarillo, CA (PRWEB) May 29, 2013

SlimDoggy (http://slimdoggy.com) announces the release of the SlimDoggy Dog Calorie and Food Calculator Widget. The widget, which calculates a dog´s daily calorie burn along with dog food calories and ingredients, is available for all pet related sites and bloggers to share with their readers. Like the SlimDoggy App, the widget helps answer two critical questions for dog owners:

1)    “What” am I feeding my dog?

2)    “How much” should I feed them?

“The public response to our App and our site has been tremendous. We are often asked about making our technology and data more readily available. The Dog Calorie Calculator allows us to do so – both on our own site and on any pet site or blog that chooses to make it available to their audience,” said Founder and CEO, Steve Pelletier. “The code for the widget is available directly on our site and is easy to for any webmaster to add include on their site. Now everyone can determine how many calories to feed their dog to keep them fit, trim, and healthy.”

Keeping your dog at a healthy and lean weight can improve the quality of a dog´s life and possibly even extend their life. Research shows that lean dogs can outlive overweight dogs by about 15%, or almost 2 years depending on the breed. Proper diet, feeding the correct amount of the right kind of food, is the major determinant of a pet´s weight and overall health. Overweight dogs can cost pet owners a lot of money — several hundred to several thousand dollars a year in extra food and medical costs. Both the SlimDoggy App, which has additional features not currently on the widget, and the SlimDoggy Widget were designed to provide pet owners the information needed to ensure their dog is fit and trim.

“As a dog mom to three pups and a pet blogger, I know that healthy dogs are happy dogs. SlimDoggy has been a valuable tool, because I’m now reading nutrition labels and tracking our dogs’ exercise. One of our dogs lost eight pounds based on what I learned from SlimDoggy!” said Kimberly Gauthier, founder of the Keep The Tail Wagging website. “Our dogs are looking and feeling great thanks to SlimDoggy and their new widget is going to revolutionize dog health and nutrition. Goodbye, Pet Obesity Epidemic! It’s time for you to go!”
