Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) June 04, 2013

Dallas-Fort Worth Fertility Associates was recently re-certified with the College of American Pathologists Laboratory Accreditation, an accreditation assuring that its Dallas IVF laboratory not only meets federal regulations but exceeds them.

“Our patients have devoted months, even years, to trying to conceive,” said Dr. Samuel Chantilis, a reproductive endocrinologist at DFW Fertility Associates. “The CAP Laboratory Accreditation affirms our committed to helping patients achieve parenthood.”

The CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program is an internationally recognized program that goes beyond regulatory compliance and helps laboratories achieve the highest standards of excellence to positively impact patient care. It is required in order to be a certified clinic by the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART), the primary organization of professionals dedicated to the practice of assisted reproductive technologies (ART) in the United States. It is also such a stringent accreditation that CAP accredited labs can report to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

“Having an onsite accredited IVF lab with dedicated technicians and skilled embryologists allows DFW Fertility Associates to deliver positive results. Our IVF laboratory is a custom built state-of-the-art IVF clinic designed to reduce the volatile chemicals or VOCs in the environment, which are known to adversely affect embryo development,” Chantilis said.

Not only is the lab CAP accredited, but DFW Fertility Associates features advanced technologies and capabilities, including intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), blastocyst biopsy and egg freezing. Most notably, the IVF lab is the location of one of the first births from frozen eggs in Texas and currently has several ongoing frozen egg pregnancies.

CAP Accredited labs are inspected by a team of doctors and embryologists. The program is based on rigorous accreditation standards to assess the overall management and operation of the laboratory with a goal to improve patient safety and care.

The College of American Pathologists, the leading organization of board-certified pathologists, serves patients, pathologists, and the public by fostering and advocating excellence in the practice of pathology and laboratory medicine worldwide.
