Boston, MA (PRWEB) June 10, 2013
Later this month, Cambridge Semantics will join industry leaders, regulators and other solution providers to discuss the issues facing financial services organizations and the innovative new solutions available at the 2013 SIFMA Tech event. Held June 18th through the 19th in New York City, Cambridge Semantics will present during a “Learning Labs” session and highlight how semantic data standards such as the Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO) can be applied to transform how financial organizations work with data.

Title: “The Emerging Approach to Enterprise Data Management using Semantics & FIBO, The Financial Industry Business Ontology”
Presented by Marty Loughlin, Vice President of Financial Services, Cambridge Semantics
Wall Street and Technology reports that 92% of financial services business costs are “data” related. Rapidly growing data volumes, increasingly diverse sources of internal and external data, and ever-changing regulatory demands are all straining the capabilities of traditional enterprise data management approaches.
During the event, Cambridge Semantics will discuss how FIBO and other semantic data standards offer a new paradigm for improving how financial organizations work with data. The Learning Lab session will also explore how explicitly capturing data’s semantics (business meaning, rules, context, quality) can impact all phases of the enterprise data management lifecycle from data acquisition to data management to data distribution. In addition, examples of semantic data standards in action in areas such as fraud detection, research management, master data/entity management and insider trading investigation will be featured.
