New version of Smart Information Server introduces powerful eDiscovery, file analysis and defensible deletion capabilities for enterprise clients using Box

Ottawa, Ontario (PRWEB) June 17, 2013

Acaveo, a pioneer and innovator of a new category of information governance solutions, today announced the release of Smart Information Server 1.6. With today´s announcement, Acaveo introduces file analysis, defensible deletion and eDiscovery identification, preservation and collection features for Box, the leading solution for cloud-based enterprise content sharing and collaboration.

“Our software has a powerful advantage for the eDiscovery use case,” says Geoff Bourgeois, CTO, Acaveo. “Using Smart Information Server, organizations can easily and efficiently interrogate and take action on their unstructured data and with this new release we´re happy to announce that Box is compatible with our innovative advantages for data governance.”

Smart Information Server is advancing its capabilities to assist large enterprises with awareness and in-place governance of large volumes of active data dispersed across on-premise servers and the cloud. Organizations are fast adopting enterprise file sharing solutions and many organizations have adopted Box for this need.

Acaveo´s solution assists organizations with analysis, preservation and collection of content stored in Box, along with other enterprise data repositories. When data in Box comes into scope of a legal claim, Acaveo´s solution facilitates visibility of the data and can automate the collection of select data based on a number of filters. If required, this preserved content can be produced easily in an EDRM-compliant manner allowing it to be readily consumed by any eDiscovery review product.

“Consider insourcing part of the e-discovery process — identification through collection — to realize cost savings, as many others have done,” said Alan Dayley, research director at Gartner, Sheila Childs, managing VP at Gartner, and Debra Logan, VP distinguished analyst at Gartner, in a June 2013 report titled The State of E-Discovery in 2013 and Beyond.
