Covenant Eyes Announces Purchase of Saavi Accountability

June 19, 2013

Covenant Eyes Internet Accountability announced it has purchased Saavi Accountability and it has partnered with Join One Million Men to help to help families escape pornography and Internet temptations online.

Owosso, MI (PRWEB) June 19, 2013

In joining a national campaign to help one million men be porn free, Covenant Eyes Internet Accountability has expanded its reach by acquiring Saavi Accountability of Gardner, KS.

“Saavi has helped many men and many families escape the grip of pornography,” said Ron DeHaas, CEO of Covenant Eyes. “Saavi has been an innovator in developing Internet monitoring and parental controls, and we are delighted that Saavi is joining Covenant Eyes in the fight against Internet temptation.”

The acquisition is timely as Covenant Eyes recently partnered with Join One Million Men, an initiative launched nationally last week in Houston, Texas, during the Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting.

“We are so thankful for the work of Covenant Eyes, and this acquisition only strengthens their work to help men and their families,” said Pastor Jay Dennis, founder and author of Join One Million Men. “This is an interdenominational campaign and Covenant Eyes´ services are invaluable to the cause.”

Having struggled with Internet pornography, Justen Wack felt a deep desire to help others and founded Saavi Accountability in 2006 after graduating from Mid-America Nazarene University. He quickly earned accolades from Kansas City-area counselors for his work in developing Internet accountability software. Wack also created videos, white papers, and other educational materials with the help of leading sex addiction therapists.

“I am proud of the work our team has accomplished, and I believe Covenant Eyes is the best organization to carry on our mission,” Wack said. “Saavi and Covenant Eyes has always shared the same goals of helping individuals and families use the Internet safely.”

Current Saavi members will receive special care in transitioning to Covenant Eyes and any time remaining with their Saavi subscription may be applied to their new subscription to Covenant Eyes. As well, former Saavi subscribers can receive their first 30 days free.

Covenant Eyes Internet Accountability monitors websites visited and sends a report to a person you choose, such as a parent, a mentor, or friend. Each site visited is rated with ratings similar to those used for TV shows and video games, like T for Teen and M for Mature. This clear reporting makes it quick and easy for parents to keep up with their kids online or for friends to hold each other accountable for their Internet use. Covenant Eyes Internet Accountability is available for Windows and Mac computers, Android® phones and tablets, iPhone®, iPod touch®, iPad®, and Kindle Fire HD®.

Also, Covenant Eyes provides Internet Filtering that uses the same ratings scale to block websites. At the touch of a mouse, parents can make the Filter restrictive for young children, allow more sites for teens, and provide greater access for adults, even though they are using the same computers. The Covenant Eyes Filter is available for Windows and Mac computers, and will soon be released for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
